GlobeServer/FW is a comprehensive user friendly plug-and-play solution for optimizing and controlling Internet access in the business environment. Many business managers have realized these exposures exist but have been unable to find a single, comprehensive product to address their concerns.
Firewall Security
Security is a most important concern for business management. GlobeServer/FW renders the workstations within the business invisible to outside hackers prowling the Internet. Attempts to break through this security firewall are blocked and logged by the GlobeServer/FW reporting system as to date, time, and IP address of the potential invader. The administrator is notified immediately that an unauthorized access has been attempted. The dedicated host firewall system utilized in GlobeServer/FW effectively precludes invaders from interacting with systems containing live business data. Without this provision, the private information of a business can be open to theft.
Email Server
GlobeServer/FW can act as a complete Email system for both internal and Internet Email. By using a single Email system that is managed in-house, staff members can send Email internally and around the world with the same ease. Anti-spam/Anti-virus

GlobeServer/FW has a powerful anti-spam system that can help identify email spam which can either be marked or discarded. In addition, the award-winning Sophos Anti-virus package (for an additional cost) can be used to scan each email for viruses and help keep your systems safe and secure.
Mail List Services
Mailing lists can be easily created and managed with GlobeServer/FW. Moderated lists can be set up so that only authorized personnel can send to the list. Also, subscribable mail lists can be created so that users can control their own list membership.
Web Browsing Management
GlobeServer/FW provides a control gateway for all employees accessing the Internet for web browsing. Web browsing by employees can provide a great deal of useful information, but web browsing can also be appealing and exciting for non-business reasons. Managers will find it prudent to monitor and control web usage to insure focus on business related topics. Using the GlobeServer/FW Graphical Administrative Interface, employee browsing time can be time limited with access denied when allotted time has expired. Activity Logging
Managers are concerned about employees wasting time browsing sites that are "interesting" but of no business value. GlobeServer/FW reports activity by employee, site visited, and time of day. Management is thus able to monitor web browsing activity and insure its productive use. A complete Internet activity log is automatically sent to the system administrator on a scheduled basis.

Graphical Control
Administrative control of GlobeServer/FW is accomplished through an easy-to-use graphical system designed for use by personnel without in-depth computer technical knowledge. The administrator can add or delete users, set web-browsing permission, and control all other functions of the system from their own workstation.
Site Blocking
Despite the wealth of information and knowledge that can be gained from the Internet, there are many sites that are simply inappropriate to visit. The optional GlobeServer/FW Site-Blocking module (included in educational systems at no additional charge) can block sites that should not be viewed. If an attempt is made to go to a blocked site, then the administrator can also be notified. On feature that is unique to GlobeServer/FW is Reverse Blocking, the ability to block ALL sites except the ones approved. Sites can be blocked for all users, groups of users, or individuals. The GlobeServer/FW Site-Blocking module can also block individual protocols such as telnet, FTP, and news.
Web Caching
GlobeServer/FW has Web Caching, which stores web pages locally and pulls them back instantly when requested by another workstation. This can improve the efficiency of lower speed connections. For schools, this is important as students in a computer lab may be asked to go to a certain page. The GlobeServer/FW captures the first page request and retrieves this information when others request the same page.
Remote Access
If you wish, selected employees can gain access to your local network from anywhere in the world securely. This allows management, sales staff, etc to work as if they were in the office from remote locations.
GlobeServer/FW Clustering
Multiple GlobeServer/FW systems can be "clustered" to allow several locations to be connected with email and secure VPN. Email is transparently distributed to your branch locations, allowing instant access to email files from a local server. In addition, your networks can be securely and transparently connected to allow branch locations to access file servers and other business-critical systems.
